Summary:

The "First Lady of the West," #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller, welcomes you home to Parable, Montana-where love awaits.

With his father's rodeo legacy to continue and a prosperous spread to run, Walker Parrish has no time to dwell on wrecked relationships. But country-western sweetheart Casey Elder is out of the spotlight and back in Parable, Montana. And Walker can't ignore that his "act now, think later" passion for Casey has had consequences. Two teenage consequences!

Keeping her children's paternity under wraps has always been part of Casey's plan to give them normal, uncomplicated lives. Now the best way to hold her family together seems to be to let Walker be a part of it-as her husband of convenience. Or will some secrets-like Casey's desire to be the rancher's wife in every way-unravel, with unforeseen results?

My review:

When I got offered reviewing Big Sky Summer by Linda Lael Miller I did not know what to expect, because I was not familiar with her books at that time. I was glad that I took the opportunity, because I fell in love with the settings and the people of Parable, Montana. Big Summer Sky was well written romance with some real issues real people have to deal with.

Plot:

Meet Walker, who is a ranch owner and rodeo rider, meet his love at the friend's wedding. Casey was his sweetheart until the day she broke his heart and left Parable, Montana. Now she is back in town with her two kids. Walker has been close to her kids and family, but he has no idea, that Casey is hiding something very important from him.

Casey is a celebrity singer who has been trying to hide the father of her kids from the public eye and from her kids. Until the day Walker finds out that he is the dad of these two wonderful kids. When Casey needs to face the truth and telling her kids that Walker is their father, her kids feel betrayed. They have always loved Walker, even when they did not know the fact who he really is.

Characters:

I did like Casey even though I did not understand all her decisions. In the beginning of the book I did not understand why Casey was so afraid of keeping the truth from her kids, especially when she knew how much Walker loved her and the children. Then I realized, that giving up the love of your life for the music, must have been very difficult. She was afraid of Walker not letting her pursue her dreams and I can relate to that. I admire the strength what Casey had for admitting to the truth.

Walker was down to earth and easy to understand and love. I can't imagine what it means, that your kids are kept away from you like that I think he handled the truth very bravely. I loved how he supported Casey and had the guts to stand up for what he thought was right.

Besides the main characters, I think the author put a lot of love into the supportive ones. It was like meeting the long lost family. You were placed into Parable and you couldn't help yourself starting caring for people of this small place.

Generally:

Big Sky Summer takes you to a happy place. The surroundings seem beautiful and cozy, the plot is interesting and the characters lovable. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it to everybody who has a soft sport for a country romance!

5 Flowers!

4 stars.
