My review:

Thought I Knew You was a debut novel from Kate Moretti and for a debut novel it was fairly well written. I really enjoyed the plot and the characters.

During and ordinary day, Claire is waiting for her husband to come home from a business trip. When he is not coming a day after, she is contacting the police to announce her husband missing. Police is starting to investigate the missing husband, but Claire can't just sit and wait and she is taking the matters into her own hands.

She is asking help from her childhood friend Drew and together they are taking a journey, which results are changing Claire's understanding of her marriage.

I liked Claire, she was so down to earth and yet quite naive, especially in the beginning of the story. As story develops she needs to face her fears and change her life. She is facing the reality that her husband might never appear again.

I truly liked the plot and the characters, but what bugged me was the fact, that the writing style was not very engaging for me. I missed the emotions: I was reading the words, but not feeling the emotions described, I understood what the author was telling through her story, but the writing seemed flat.. In the middle of the novel I struggled continuing the reading until the author surprised me and the story picked up again.

Thought I Knew you is suitable reading for a mature reader and you will not be disappointed!
