Books to Movies Giveaway - Win a set - a book and a movie!

Happy Monday!

Yay! It's here! One of the giveaway hops, what I really have been waiting for - Books to Movies giveaway Hop. This hop is organized by Kathy from I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and by Sweeping the USA. There are around 80 blogs participating and it runs 11 - 17 September.

This hop features books that have been made into movies or TV shows.

With that said, there are so many very good books that have made into movies and very few movies made into books. Ever thought why that is that screenplays are seldom (compared the other way around)turned to books?

Anyway, my experiences are that books are usually better in details than movies and in one way, it's understandable because movies are limited to few hours where many good details featured in the book are lost on the big screen. Even now, during the special effects era, sometimes it's impossible put the events into the screen and yet, some books have been successfully transferred into movies or TV shows.

I am both avid reader and avid movie visitor, I like both genres of the art. As said usually books are deeper than movies made based on them, but lately I have to admit, I have seen few movies which are actually better than books. First example here is Eat, Pray, Love by Elisabeth Gilbert. I truly loved the movie and I had difficulties finishing the book. Not because, it was badly written, but I had to force myself to come through the spiritual parts of it. The second example is One Day by David Nicholls. I have seen the movie several times and I am still drawn by the work done by the actors. Book was good, too, but the visual part was more fascinating in the movie.

There are many examples of very good books which have been made into very good movies too, but that is not actually what I'm going to write about. let's head to the giveaway!

What can you win this time?

There will be 1 winner who will receive a set of book and a movie DVD of a book which is made into a movie. The winner can pick him/herself. This is not valid for series, but 1 single book made into 1 single movie.
