Instead Julie finds Mark Thomas, who is renting the house while her mom travels the country. If that isn’t bad enough, a blizzard hits the town, keeping her locked in with the hunk who happens to have a secret of his own, which Julie just has to know.

My review:

Finding Home by Lacey Wolfe is a romance novella which is well-written with lovable characters. It was Lacey Wolfe's first book for me to read and I truly enjoyed it. It was easy to read, the relationship and attraction between Julie and Mark was remarkable and last, but not least, there were interesting topics woven into the story.

Regarding the plot:

Julie's boyfriend and father to her unborn child gives Julie a choice - to get an abortion or leave and Julie decides to leave. When she shows up at her mother's house, Julie finds a handsome guy who is renting out the house from Julie's mother. Julie and Mark are forced to stay in the house and unexpected things start to happen.

Julie is very curious and feels a desire to know more about Mark who has a lot of things he wants to hide. Nobody seems to know who he is and why is he in Clearwater. Unexpected love starts to grow and as the feelings grow stronger, both of them need to ask the difficult questions - Mark has to decide if he wants to become a father of another man's child and Julie needs to learn to trust a love.

I really enjoyed their relationship, it was hot, complicated and sweet and it deals with quite serious issues both characters have to face.

Regarding the characters:

I loved Julie. She was vulnerable, sweet, tough and quick. I found it cute how her hormones got the better part of her! I enjoyed Mark, who has so many good sides and a heavy pat to carry around with. Mark was really well-written by the author and was the stronger character in the book. They balanced each other and supported each other through the story.

Generally:

Finding Home by Lacey Wolfe  is easy to read novella which combines romance, humor, weird situations, serious topics and difficult choices. Perfect vacation or holiday read!

5 Flowers!
5 stars

Thanks goes to the author and Sizzling PR for providing me with the review copy!

About the author:

Lacey Wolfe has always had a passion for words, whether it’s getting lost in a book or writing her own. From the time she was a child she would slip away to write short stories about people she knew and fantasies she wished would happen. It has always been her dream to be a published author and with her two children now of school age, she finally has the time to work on making her dream come true.

Lacey lives in Georgia with her husband, son and daughter, their six cats and one black lab who rules the house.

Clearwater Series

Where the heck is Clearwater? Well, it’s in Wyoming in a small town where everyone knows everyone and all their business. There is no telling what the people are up to and what secrets that might be discovered. The best part of Clearwater to me, is the small town feel.

My latest book, Finding Home, is part of this series. You won’t only find my books however in this series; it’s a multi-author series, which means your get a wide range of authors and genres. The authors work together to make sure the characters stay true to other stories. Each author has a list of all the characters and you never know when one of your favorites might pop-up.

Finding Home is my first sweet story. Up until this release, my stories were erotic fiction. The scenes were plentiful and detailed. In Finding Home, I’ve limited those scenes and they definitely are not as detailed as they were. However, the door is not completely shut.

I plan to write more for this series. I am actively working on a story titled, Bare Necessities. You will encounter the characters from Finding Home again in this one, as well as meet a feisty Italian, Ava. But in the meantime, I hope you take the time to check out Finding Home and discover why Julie has returned home, where her mom is, and what happens when you get snowed in with a hunk that happens to have a secret.

Finding Home

Julie Miller has returned to her home in Clearwater, Wyoming after discovering she is pregnant. All she wants is her mother to comfort her after her boyfriend told her to either have an abortion or leave. The only problem is, when she gets to her mother’s house, she doesn’t find her mom—she finds a half-naked man cooking breakfast.

Mark Thomas has moved to Clearwater to escape his past. He needs a fresh start to try and forget the things that haunt him, and Clearwater seems like the perfect place.

As if it isn’t bad enough that Julie doesn’t find her mother, a blizzard buries the town, and she is snowed in with Mark. Leaving them no choice, they begin a friendship while trying to resist the attraction they feel for one another.

Once the snow melts, Julie is free to leave. Will she choose to start a life in Clearwater or run back to New York? Meanwhile, Mark struggles to let go of his past and, if he does, is Julie his future?
