Blog Tour - Picture Perfect by Deena Remiel

Welcome to my stop at the Picture Perfect Blog Tour! I am very excited to be part of it! My stop will include author interview with Deena Remiel and some other information about Picture Perfect.

I have reviewed Picture Perfect already and you can find the review here.

Summary of Picture Perfect from Goodreads:

Jamie has it all, looks, brains, and a charming personality. But in this romance cover model’s world, those blessings become a curse when a colleague blurs the line between reality and fantasy. Will women only see him for his looks and never look below the surface to the man beneath?

Picture PerfectHope had a dream job, working with sexy, hot photographs, turning authors’ dreams into reality. When laid off from her publisher as a cover artist she must find her namesake in life again…some kind of hope for her future. Can a birthday wish give her what she truly desires? They say be careful what you wish for.

Destiny seems to bring Jamie and Hope what they need, each other. But a dangerous obstacle stands in their way as obsession turns deadly. Can Jamie trust in Hope’s grounded nature? Is Hope strong enough to live in Jamie’s world? Or will reality intrude on their fantasy of being together?

Author Bio:

This is how Deena introduces herself on her homepage.

My name is Deena Remiel, and I am an author of paranormal romance and poetry. I also teach language arts to middle schoolers. Curiously, I find myself being called upon to write all sorts of correspondence for my family and friends, but they are everything to me, and frequently serve as fodder for elements of my novels, poems, and posts. They take it all in stride, though, and with good humor. So, it’s really a perfect give and take relationship!

I belong to RWA national and the Desert Rose Chapter of RWA, where there are outstanding people writing fabulous stories. I can now say I’m a published author! I have poetry published in the anthology, Hippoetry, coming out in the fall of 2010. My first paranormal romance, TRINITY, A Brethren Novel, will be released shortly, as will RELIC, the second book in the series! Thanks, Decadent Publishing!

I grew up in Philadelphia, home of the most amazing soft pretzels, oh and the Liberty Bell. My husband and I began our own family in New Jersey, and just a few short years ago, Arizona called to my spirit and tempted my husband with much better weather! We moved our family, and the rest is history, or the present, as the case may be!

These are a few of my favorite things: writing and reading of course, chocolate, music with lyrics or melodies that speak to me, soaking baths, singing in the shower, dancing with my buds, romantic dancing with my hubby, scrapbooking, watching my girls enjoy what they love to do, and laughing at jokes because Lord knows I can’t tell one!

And now, ladies and gentlemen, give a warm welcome to Deena Remiel, author of Picture Perfect!

Interview is in three parts. First section is about Deena, second section is about her books, writing it, about characters etc, third part is about her favorites.

Part I

MAR: Please describe yourself with a few sentences. Who are you?
DR: I am many things- an author, a teacher, a mother and wife.

MAR: What inspired you to become writer?
DR: Initially, writing served to free my emotions. Now, stories enter my mind and I must write them down. Inspiration can come from the vistas around me or people in my life.

MAR: Who did you want to become when you were a kid?
DR: I wanted to be one of Charlie’s Angels.

MAR: What did you dream about?
DR: I dreamt of a prince climbing up to my window to steal me away.

MAR: What brought you to writing?
DR: Lots of teenage angst!

MAR: When did the idea of writing your first book form?
DR: When I saw the Superstition Mountains from my back yard, the word superstition stuck in my head. Thoughts of good and evil percolated in my mind and Trinity was born.

MAR: What do you do when you are not reading and writing and blogging?
DR: I teach middle school kids reading and writing.

MAR: Do you have any hobbies?
DR: I scrapbook and love to take pictures.

MAR: What is the most difficult aspect of being a writer for you?
DR: Finding enough time! I love all aspects of the process of writing, even editing. LOL But finding enough time during the school year is a great challenge.

MAR: Who or what is your Muse?
DR: I have no muse. It perplexes people, but I don’t. There is no fairy sitting on my bookshelf next to me or buzzing in my ear. It’s just me and my computer.

MAR: What was the best summer read for you this summer?
DR: Shadow Touch by Erin Kellison

Part II

Picture Perfect was for me the first of your books I’ve read so far, so, let’s talk about Picture Perfect and your other books.

MAR: Where did you get the idea for Picture Perfect?
DR: The idea came from a conversation I’d had with a friend who models for and creates romance novel stock photos and covers, Jimmy Thomas.

MAR: How was the novella born?
DR: The story crashed through me after our conversation and I wound up writing it in a week’s time.

MAR: You have written several books. Would you tell us about the books that have been published already?

Brethren Beginnings Volume 1
Trinity: A Brethren NovelPicture Perfect

DR: I’ve published Trinity with Decadent Publishing. It’s the first book in the Brethren Series. A mother and her young daughter are thrust into a war between Good and Evil. Only one can protect them. An angel. An immortal. A Brethren named Michael. Brethren Beginnings is published through Kindle Direct and Createspace. It is the companion book to the Brethren Series. Learn about the origins of the Brethren. Read the compelling stories of their war against Evil and their fight for human salvation. Relic, the second book in the Brethren Series will be released by Decadent Publishing soon. Also from Decadent Publishing, I have a short story for their 1-Night Stand series called, Ghost of a Chance. This story is about a man cursed to live as a ghost and the woman who brings him back to life.

MAR: Which book have you enjoyed writing most?
DR: There is no possible way for me to choose between my babies. They each have offered me such joy.

MAR: Did you ever experience writer’s block when the writing process just wasn’t moving ahead?
DR: Yes, so I just put aside the troublesome piece and pick up a different piece.

MAR: Which character do you love most in your books?
DR: I love my strong women.

MAR: Which character in which book can you mostly relate to?
DR: I relate closest to Emma Livingston, from Trinity. She is a fiercely devoted mother to her daughter Hannah.

MAR: I must ask you about new books to be published. What will it/these be about? Anything you can tell us already?
DR: After Relic is released, the third book in the Brethren series, Elixxir, will be next.
