In My Mailbox (12)

Happy Sunday, everybody!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. Each week I will post books (or book-related things) that I've bought, won in contests, or received in the mail.

This week has been quiet and for once I am happy about it. The reason is that I have still lot of reading to do, so once in awhile it is good when it's more quiet.

Books, I've won:

A book from Leanore Elliott

I do not know which ebook what I will receive yet, but I got an email telling me since I was participating in the Freedom Giveaway Hop on the Wormwhole blog where her books were the prizes, I will get one ebook.
Can't wait which book I will get! I know that she writes erotic and romance books, so I am sure that it will be something hot for summer to read.

Books, I've purchased:

What a Goddess Wants by Stephanie Julian

Summary from Goodreads:
What a Goddess Wants

It's OK no one remembers Etruscan Sun goddess Tessa. But when a demon threatens her life, she must turn to mythology's darkest warrior for protection...

Caligo of the Cimmerians has never met a woman as warm, sunny and inviting as Tessa. Their sizzling mutual attraction quickly sweeps the two of them into a love story that's worthy of the gods...

Praise for Stephanie Julian:

"Stephanie Julian will tempt a saint and give the sinner what they want... Brutally vivid characters and flaming hot passion that just leaps off the pages. I cannot wait to see what will happen next."
-Fallen Angel Reviews

Can't wait to start reading this!

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

Summary from Goodreads:

Across the UniverseSeventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone - one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship - tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now, Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.
I bought this book, because I am planning to participate in a read-a-long which actually already started on the 5th of July. It sounds like a promising YA book.

Books I have received for reviewing from Netgalley:

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab (Disney-Hyperion)

Summary from Goodreads:

The Near WitchThe Near Witch is only an old story told to frighten children.
And there are no strangers in the town of Near.
These are the truths that Lexi has heard all her life.

But when an actual stranger—a boy who seems to fade like smoke—appears outside her home on the moor at night, she knows that at least one of these sayings is no longer true.

The next night, the children of Near start disappearing from their beds, and the mysterious boy falls under suspicion. Still, he insists on helping Lexi search for them. Something tells her she can trust him.

As the hunt for the children intensifies, so does Lexi’s need to know—about the witch that just might be more than a bedtime story, about the wind that seems to speak through the walls at night, and about the history of this nameless boy.

Part fairy tale, part love story, Victoria Schwab’s debut novel is entirely original yet achingly familiar: a song you heard long ago, a whisper carried by the wind, and a dream you won’t soon forget.
Sounds little spooky!

And that's it for today.
Happy reading, everybody!
